Product Description BBQ folded flat Picture the scene. It's the height of summer, or what passes for summer. You're off to the park with your chums. You've just had a big night out and you've got the serious 'munchies', as we believe it's called. You now have a choice. Run off down to the Co-op for a few tubes of Pringles... or run off down to the Co-op for a few chicken drumsticks, sausages, veggie skewers and massive fat burgers. At Gadgetshop HQ, we know which sounds infinitely more appealing, which is why we searched high and low for this intriguing little contraption. It's a compact, folding barbecue that's designed to be taken anywhere. Here's how it works: 1. Fold it out. 2. Fill it up. 3. Light it up. And that's it. No complex gas bottles, no heavy lifting and no rummaging around B&Q for those 'instant' types that you can use once and once only. Large grilling surface Now the spirit of summer can join you wherever you are, or even sit permanently in the boot of your car, ready for action whenever the mood takes you. Fully collapsing to just a few inches thick, it's ultra-light and ultra-portable yet robust and sturdy wherever you choose to put it. Just plonk it down, light it up and you're a twisted firestarter, as my nephew likes to put it. great bbq July 20, 2010 sam This is such a great design, it folds up to nothing so is perfect for camping. It has a tray for the coals to sit on so there is plenty of room for air to circulate underneath. This space also catches all the falling ash so it keeps the ground completely clean. My only concern is that after many uses the construction won't hold up as some of the joints look a little weak and the grill a bit warped but we've used it as a barbecue and as a fire and so far it's great.
Excellent Portable BBQ July 18, 2010 Mr. K. Stone (Cheshire, United Kingdom) I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this, but now I've used it I'm very impressed.
Very compact, easy to assemble and has a large cooking area.
Not quite perfect July 5, 2010 Mr. S. C. Davies This BBQ looks the part and is excellent for BBQ's on the beach and in the park.
However, as a previous user stated, I have used this only once so far and the
grill that the coals go on has warped and the powder coating has burnt off the
outside. I suggest that charcoal briquettes are used as smaller pieces tend to
fall through the grill when spreading them out.
Still, if you get ten uses out of it it's still much cheaper than buying ten
portable BBQ's. Even though it has it's faults it is still well worth it.
Easy to use June 22, 2010 Ms. C. Howarth (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The barbecue was delivered almost straight away - it arrived about two days after I ordered it which was brilliant. Easy to use and easy to clean afterwards, although you have to let it cool down. If you're going to take it out to use, make sure to take something to put the ashes into, because you can't fold them up along with the barbie and you wouldn't want to just leave all the mess out in your chosen beauty spot.
bit tinny but good size June 13, 2010 M. Cotton I've just bought one of these and it's a handy size and folds easily but.....there is a problem folding it up with the grid inside as per the illustration on the box: it just keeps falling out. Not major but inconvenient. Also the bolt on one of the side hinges keeps coming out so we shall have to go to B&Q for some small nuts and bolts which is annoying but not worth the hassle of sending the whole thing back to get a replacement. I'm sure this will be a handy backup BBQ but it's disappointingly tinny and of poor quality
